Tags
Tags have long been one of the most requested features in the Community and we understand why! We know tags can be useful for almost any type of workflow, but we also wanted them to feel right for Craft: intuitive, lightweight, and seamlessly integrated into your writing. A natural part of your personal productivity flow.
And we believe we’ve found the right approach.
A Tagging System That Feels Native
Tags in Craft are primarily designed to help you quickly find and group your content without introducing unwanted complexity. They are inline and part of your text, so they can be added to blocks, tasks, pages, anywhere you write.
-
Just type
#and start writing a tag, pressEnterto create a new tag or select an existing one. -
As you type, you’ll see smart suggestions. Tags that Craft thinks match the content of your document.
-
You can nest tags using a
/(e.g.#project/tags) to create structured hierarchies, making it easier to group related content and explore subcategories.
No setup, no configuration, just type and go. If there’s something you don’t want to be treated as a tag, even if it includes a hash symbol, you can add it to the Ignore list in your Space Settings, under the Tags section. You can use predefined rules or set up your own custom ones.
Starred Docs, Now Expandable
While improving sidebar access, we’ve made another small but meaningful change: Starred documents are now a separate, expandable section in the sidebar. No matter where you are in Craft, your favourite docs are just a click away, and you can star more right from the sidebar, with "+".

We are extremely excited to hear how you like tags - feel free to drop an email with your first impressions to support@craft.do.
Web Clipper
Besides tags, Web Clipper has long been at the top of many users’ wishlists - we are happy to share with you our official Web Clipper.
You can turn inspiration into action the second you find it. Craft Web Clipper lets you capture articles, research, and images straight from Chrome or Safari and drop them into the powerful documents you already love. It’s available on desktop now, but iOS support is coming soon too!
Try it out right now and let us know how you like it!
Mobile Web Beta
Following up on long requested items - we’re also happy to share that full editing capabilities are now available for your Android phone as well with our Mobile Web Beta launch!
In the past months already hundreds of people used it and provided amazing feedback for us (huge thanks for them), from now on it’s available for everyone, just go to https://docs.craft.do/ on your Android phone.
We will continuously improve the experience, so if you bump into anything, just let us know by dropping an email to support@craft.do.
Announcing Chaps Dev and Creator Beta
Good things come in threes - Tags, Web Clipper, and Mobile Web - but we’ve saved one more surprise for last. We're opening up the Chaps Developer and Creator Beta on the 12th of August - Apply now if you’re interested.
Early on, we recognized that AI could do more than answer questions - it could transform how people use tools, turning them into conversational, intuitive workflows. Chaps is that vision made real: a platform that gives your apps a conversational interface, so you can talk to them, customize them with plain language, and get things done without wrestling with menus or settings. (Yes—Craft itself will be one of the apps you can chat with.)
We see something even bigger: empowering creators who don’t write code. A home cook, writer, coach, or teacher can launch their own Chat App, tailored to their expertise - and let users interact with it naturally. Picture a chef’s app that:
-
Understands their proprietary recipe logic,
-
Responds to photos of what you’ve cooked,
-
Switches between grams and ounces seamlessly,
-
Adjusts servings on demand,
-
Learns your taste profile (more salty? less spice?),
… and does it all through conversation.
If you’re a developer with an app that deserves a chat interface, or creator with ideas for chat-native experience - join our Dev & Creator Beta Program.
